The Learning Profile in Action
Learning Profile is how we:
-take in
-process
-express
information in an educational, professional and social setting.
Our Learning Profile is as distinctive and unique as our fingerprint and can and should be used to our advantage in every learning situation. |
The Learning Profile consists of:
- Taking in information by seeing it in words or pictures such as graphs, charts or diagrams; listening to it; working with it; or many various combinations of the above.
- Thinking it through (processing it) which is how we organize the information in order to understand it and formulate our own views.
- Expressing it which is how we use the understood information—how we demonstrate our understanding. This reflects our “smarts”, our special abilities and talents.
When our Learning Profile is at odds with another’s’, misunderstandings, hurt feelings and even anger can occur—all of which is counterproductive in any environment. |
